This is an interesting example of camera movement I found from The Lord of the Rings. The camera is panning from left to right showing off the beautiful scenery all the while keeping the characters almost as a center focus. I really liked this clip because of the imagery and how the camera was so zoomed out so that it could capture the environment. I also found it interesting how it still manages to capture the characters riding through the shot as if its supposed to be the main focal point but you cant help but notice the significance of the mountains in the background.

Oh, your blog is SO beautiful! This is a great gif (love me some LOTR). You do a good job describing the technical aspects of this shot, and its effect on the viewer.
ReplyDeleteI really like this shot! I love the landscape and how beautiful and free the horses look! Great choice.

This is a great shot. The movement of the mountains really caught my focus, it's as if the main characters were moving with the mountains. Great clip!

Lord of the Rings is great, as is this GIF!! The panning as you discussed really does focus us on the scenery. We see the horses running in this vast environment and know they are on a dramatic journey. Good job!

I really tried to focus on the main point here (the people riding the horses), but I couldn't help but to stare at the mountains in the background! Beautiful GIF! ❤
