The Conjuring

This is a long shot from the 2013 movie The Conjuring. What I love about this shot is the environment encompasses the house as if it will swallow it whole. Given the noose hanging in the foreground the rest of the scene invites a sense of impending danger and isolation of the house. It looks like there could be woods for miles around this old farm house; both the fog and the surrounding forest look almost as if they're hiding something from the viewer, wanting to keep your vision and thoughts clouded. In all, this one long-shot really sets the scene giving the viewer a sense of curiosity and cautiousness.
